A Ready-Made Wardrobe for You

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of His righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels (Isaiah 61:10).

Oh, the many wonderful and blessed things our Lord has prepared for us—including a wardrobe!

It’s a wardrobe made of His righteousness, with costly garments sewn of His sacrifice.

And it’s a wardrobe that includes armor . . . battle armor.

God has fitted us with armor for this battle that wages against us—so we can stand victorious (Ephesians 6:13-17).

In His great love, the Lord has prepared other beautiful garments of salvation for you to wear. Because of your union with Him, He has wrapped you in justification, sanctification, and redemption as a cloak.

Then there are the garments of kindness and compassion spun by the Holy Spirit. But you’ll need to choose to clothe yourself in them daily. When you do, others see His reflection in you.

And, when the people of the Lord are clothed in His love, there is harmony among us (Colossians 3:14) for the world to see. That’s when the Bride is best suited for her Bridegroom!

We can also adorn ourselves with garments of praise—for the display of His splendor (Isaiah 61:3). This brings a blessing of honor and pleasure to our God. And of equal delight is the all-season garb of gratitude.

Wearing these royal garments crowns us with the glory of the King. And because it brings a bit of heaven to earth, it cloaks our world in beauty divine.
